Disc Golf Instruction- Will Schusterick Q and A
There has been a lot of talk recently about the DGI group. The agency to help the sport and professionals alike. But, there is another DGI that came out recently and it is led by Prodigy Team member Will Schusterick. Disc Golf Instruction or DGI is something on its own and is here to help the sport of Disc Golf grow. Check it out below and enjoy!
1) How did you get your start into Disc Golf?
Growing up I played travel baseball and AAU basketball. When I grew out of the league I had to find something to do, and disc golf came into my life.
2) Who inspires you to continue to play?
All of my family. I wake up everyday wanting to make them proud and do something productive to help this amazing sport grow.
3) What made you want to go pro?
I want to be the best at anything Im doing. What made me want to go pro was just the "want" to be the best.
4) What is it like to get sponsored?
Being sponsored is a good thing, although I see players act as if it is necessary to improve their game. Being sponsored wont change your game but it could add some confidence. I want players to know that sponsorship is great but don't let it bring you down if you are not sponsored.
5) What is it like to be on Team Prodigy?
Being on Team Prodigy is nothing short of a privilege. The way they support their players, build towards innovation inside of disc golf, and by having the best branding in disc golf are several reasons I see it as a privilege to be associated with Prodigy.
6) What can we expect form you in 2018?
You can expect a very similar year to hat I've had for 12 years now. Traveling, promoting, competing, and doing my best to succeed.
7) Favorite Disc?
350G M2
8) Favorite Course?
New World Disc Golf Complex
9) What made you want to start Disc Golf Instruction?
I started DGI to help people learn to play disc golf the right way in a professional and organized matter. I felt the disc golf world is growing so fast and people need to learn how to play, so I created a team of professionals to help me complete this dream.
10) What is Disc Golf Instruction all about?
DGI is going to be about many things. The obvious would be bringing content to our members. DGI will also offer several other programs in the future to help further the sport of disc golf.
11) What advice can you give someone who wants to step up their game?
Go watch and learn from a top level pro!
12) Is there any pre- tournament rituals that you do? If so, what are they?
I always eat well, before and after a tournament. Food is energy, and in my mind it needs to be clean to compete at the highest level.
13) Is there anything else you would like people to know about you that they may not?
I would say there's a lot of things people dont know about me and they will find out soon enough!
I would like to thank Will for taking the time out of his day to answer my questions and for letting me ask him questions in general. If you would like to know more about him or Disc Golf Instruction you can find out more on his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Schusterick/ or at www.discgolfinstruction.com. look out for more coming soon!
