Disc Golf Boxes- Michael Beach Q and A

Throughout the years there has been a flurry of monthly subscription boxes being put out. Varying in all sorts of themes and types of giveaways. One day I saw a company advertise for a monthly Disc Golf subscription on my various social media platforms. I dug a little deeper and found out that the company was called “Disc Golf Boxes” and they have a wide variety of monthly subscriptions that vary in price and amount. I got to have a conversation and was able to ask the creator Michael Beach some questions about his service and company. I enjoyed talking to him and these are his answers below, check them out!

1) How did you get into Disc Golf?

I played in College a little with some friends, but with an ultimate disc. Fast forward 8 years. I was at a birthday party at a local park and saw some guys playing, thought it would be fun to try it out again. This time got some Disc Golf discs and the rest was history. Been playing for over 3 years now.

2) What is "Disc Golf Boxes"?

Disc Golf Boxes is a subscription box company for Disc Golf. It is owned and operated by Disc Golfers FOR Disc Golfers. The box is a way for you to not only get some sweet plastic each and every month, but also a way for your to receive and try a disc you may have never tried before. It is a way to branch out within a certain brand or a variety of brands, you can choose! These boxes also will come with some SWEET swag to help you sport disc golf in a new way.

When you sign up for your box, you will be able to choose which brand, stability, color, weight etc that you prefer. We can't guarantee the color and weight, but will do our best to meet your needs.

We focus on providing the highest quality discs to meet your needs. We put a larger emphasis on the discs than the swag. The Swag is sweet, but the discs are what matters more!

3) How did the company get its start?

I was watching TV and saw a commercial for the Dollar Shave Club. I thought it would be a cool idea for a subscription service for Disc Golf. I talked to a few friends who all agreed. I ran a test of concept and it was very successful. Shortly after that test, we went live.

4) Do you work with all of the companies?

We work with almost all brands of discs. There are a few more that we are working to add. Currently we are working with: Axiom, MVP, Latitude 64, Westside Discs, Dynamic Discs, Legacy Discs, DGA, Innova, Disc Mania, Prodigy, Vibram, Discraft, Millenium and Kastaplast.

5) Why a monthly subscription?

Why Not?! Who wouldn't love to receive some discs and swag each month! We all love to receive new plastic!

6) What has been the best part about starting and running the company?

The best part has been the people that I have been able to help and meet. It is so rewarding hearing stories of how we helped them find a disc to meet a need. It is also so exciting to hear new players sign up for our boxes and help them create and build their bag.

7) Personally, what is your favorite disc?

Thats a tough one.... 1 disc... I would have to go with the Vibram Olace

8) Personally, what is your favorite course?

Can’t narrow down to one

Favorite Courses:

Flat Rock - Columbus GA

Bryant Lake Park - Eden Prairie MN

Alexander Park - Lawrenceville GA

9) What can we look out for from the remainder of the year from you guys?

We are always looking for new items to wow our customers. We are currently working on some cold weather gear to help keep you warm.

10) Is there anything that you would like the people to know about you or your company that they may not already know?

Disc Golf Boxes was created by Disc Golfers and for Disc Golfers. We take great pride in providing the highest quality products with the highest level of customer service in the industry.

I would like to thank Michael Beach for taking the time out of his day to answer these questions and respond quickly. If you would like to check out more on Disc Golf Boxes you can find them at discgolfboxes.com and find them on all forms of social media as well!
